The 2023 GDS Yearbook Committee was tasked with creating a yearbook post-pandemic with entirely new staff. Beyoncé's RENAISSANCE album was the perfect inspiration, especially considering the return of many 'Spartan' traditions at Gaston Day School post-pandemic. I coordinated and led the core theme and design, along with setting deadlines and marketing the yearbook to potential buyers with promotional material.

Renaissance.
Renaissance, a French word meaning "rebirth", refers to a period of revival of classical learning and wisdom. After the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the GDS community emerged stronger, more resilient, and more creative than ever. I wanted showcase the beauty and elegance of our school culture, as well as the innovation and originality of our students, so the plain white fabric leaves the rest of history to be written by students. I initially drew inspiration from high-fashion magazines like W or VOGUE, which feature stunning photography and bold design. I also incorporated subtle elements of the Renaissance art and architecture, such as custom-designed fonts and new layouts with rounded corners.
