blender + figma

"pgLang SHADES" is a trailer for a spatial headset designed in the future for the society of today. The hardware was designed by me, as well as animation entirely in Blender. This video is designed to be futuristic and dystopian to capture the same essence as pgLang's films, and I experimented in After Effects and 4:3 aspect ratio for the first time to give it a unique look. I partnered with allwhite (link below) to design the user interface for the headset in Figma as a part of a contest in the Concept Central Discord server where we won first prize.

Dystopian
pgLang is quite a mysterious design company, so with this project I did my best to emulate the eerie nature of their promotional material using an odd aspect ratio, film shake and grain, and other animation and style choices that give it a retro feel. The product design itself is futuristic and looks like some futuristic glasses for sale today. It shows a scary future where everyone wears them and sees a world that is not their own, and pgLang is being shown as the company driving this dystopia, asking 'what's wrong with rose-colored glasses?' The voice assistant is an 8ball which.. is kinda creepy in its own way. We designed this entire concept in around two days, and many parts were incomplete so we embraced the lack of footage and polish throughout the video and turned it into something special.
